We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

What this means in practice

Affiliate commissions help keep the lights on so we can keep writing honest guides without a paywall or sponsored content clogging the feed. That said, the commission on a bag of dog food is not going to change what we think of it. We pick what we'd actually use. If something earns a spot on a list here, it's because we think it's genuinely worth recommending — not because the margin is better.

We don't accept payment to feature products, and we don't let brands dictate what we say about them. If a product we've linked to turns out to be bad, we update the recommendation.

Which links are affiliate links?

When an article contains affiliate links, we note it at the top of the piece. "Where to buy" buttons and product recommendation links may be affiliate links. Editorial content — the analysis, the ingredient breakdowns, the comparison scoring — is never influenced by whether we have an affiliate arrangement for a product.
